Lunch Bunch this Friday at Sir Veza’s

The Southern Arizona Celiac Support Group is have their monthly Lunch Bunch at Sir Veza’s Taco Garage. You are invited to attend the lunch this Friday, April 9 starting around Noon.  If you are not a member of SACS, this would be an excellent opportunity for you to find out more about the group, and enjoy a Gluten Free Lunch with a whole bunch of other people who share the same challenges as you.  It’s always fun as we share stories, recipes and all kinds of news.

Sir Veza’s Taco Garage, owned by the El Charro group is a fun new Mexican restaurant in the heart of Tucson on the corner of Speedway and Swan. They have a some very familiar menu items as well as a few with a unique new twist.

The staff at Sir Veza’s is well educated on their Gluten Free items. They have a nice selection to order from. Remember, this is not a Gluten Free kitchen, but they do have a separate fryer for GF and they take great care in preventing cross contamination. Come join Colleen this Friday for a great time and some really good GF food.

If you would like to attend, please call Eileen at (520) 888-2935

Calling All Youth

GIG is supporting a program called “Calling All Youth!” which strives to spread the word to Congress that kids’ rights to have a GF school lunch are not being met. You can help by going to <http://www.gluten.net/>, scrolling down to “Calling All Youth!”, and then clicking on “petition.” Kids, their parents, siblings, and friends can sign the petition and send it back to GIG by May 15th. This national movement is important for getting this change made for our gf kids. Please consider helping out.

The Loop, Taste of Chicago has a new GF menu

I stopped by to visit with Marcy at The Loop on Friday and she showed me their new Gluten Free Menu. Plenty of choices, but not pizza, not yet.  They are shopping for a good GF crust, but haven’t found one yet.

We’ll let you know when that happens. In the mean time enjoy a great GF Dinner at the Loop.

Always remember to tell your server you need your meal prepared Gluten Free even when you are ordering off the GF menu.
