Join the Southern Arizona Celiac Support Group for a Gluten Free Dinner on Friday, Juy 30 starting at 5:00pm. We always start with a Happy Hour from 5pm – 6pm and then order Dinner around 6pm. Happy Hour is optional, but a good chance to visit with everyone. For more information follow this link. Invitation to Picazzo’s this Friday Night
It’s Gluten Free Paradise this Friday night at Picazzo’s Organic Italian Kitchen. You are invited to join the Southern Arizona Celiac Support group starting at 5pm for Happy Hour. We’ll be ordering dinner around 6pm. If you haven’t been there yet, Picazzo’s is pretty well known around the state for their gluten free menu items, especially their pizza, because they make their own pizza dough from scratch. I wanted to share this email I received from Cheryl Wilson, president of the SAZCSG. I wasn’t at the GFFF, but I trust her if she says it’s this good, then we should all do what we can to make this happen.
Cheryl wrote,
Hey folks—want to encourage you ALL to contact your local store and ask them to carry The Grainless Baker products that were sampled at the GFFF. If asked what distinguishes them (and you did not try the cream puffs at the GFFF) then mention GF Cream Puffs. ‘nuff said. However, if that is NOT enough, their baguettes (which, unfortunately, they did not bring to the GFFF) are amazing!!!! Just like those we remember—crusty on the outside and chewing in the middle—yum! They were the only ones carrying GF mock rye bread @ the GFFF—and although there may be another vendor making mock rye, I haven’t heard of any.
More than that? I have NEVER, EVER had a GF hamburger bun that stayed together and had good texture until now. So good, in fact, I had TWO last night! I’ve hardly had a GF bun since 2002, but these are incredible—my husband even likes them and he doesn’t have to eat GF J. They are so like “regular” buns (both hamburger and hot dog) that they are sold in some sports stadiums in the Eastern USA—quite a coup.
For those of you who WERE at the GFFF you may have tasted their biscotti and loved it—they sold out of biscotti at least an hour before the GFFF was over…
So call, Email, speak in person to the manager of your local store—and if your local store happens to be the Whole Foods on Oracle, make sure you talk to Steve and ask him to carry THE GRAINLESS BAKER products.

Gluten Free Friday at Rusty’s
Everyone is invited to join the SAZCSG Lunch Bunch this Friday at Rusty’s Family Restaurant & Sports Grille, 2075 W Grant Road, Tucson, AZ 85745. Rusty’s is located just West of Silverbell on the South side of the street. Lunch is at noon. Please RSVP to Eileen at 888-2935 if you would like to join us. Spouses and friends are welcome to join us as well. We won’t make fun of them if they eat a big hamburger with a bun. OK, maybe just a little, but we have never physically hurt anyone…yet!
Papagayo is almost totally Gluten Free!
I was totally surprised when I asked Bryan, the owner of Papagayo if he had a Gluten Free menu or served GF items. He brought the menu over and showed me that their entire menu is Gluten Free except for one dinner. Just remember to ask for the corn tortillas instead of wheat.

Keva Juice Gluten Free Treats
We recently received a message from John regarding the gluten free treats available at Keva Juice. Here is what John wrote:
I would like to let you know that Keva Juice provides a variety of options in gluten free treats. All of our smoothies, with the exception of the Chocolate Malt and the Oreo Speedwagon, are gluten free. We offer over 30 different gluten free fruit smoothies. We also have gluten free gelato at our Sunrise and Swan location and gluten free, non-fat frozen yogurt at our Oro Valley location. The frozen yogurt is probiotic (with live and active cultures) and has a variety of health benefits in addition to being gluten free. Keva Juice is open until 9pm, seven days a week and opens at 7am weekdays, 8am on weekends (except the Sunrise Dr. store which opens at 9am on weekends.
